EARTHWARDHow Can I Help? |

Turn your vision earthward - |
It is a very long tunnel, however, and the Okellos* still need
a great deal of help to fully emerge from the darkness. They will
still need a permanent shelter, and a means of livelihood. As you
may have already read, we have, in consultation with Peter*, devised
a recipe for both. The lacking ingredient is funding. Any
amount you choose to contribute will help this family immensely, and
will be greatly appreciated. For the duration of the project to restore the Okellos* to self-sufficiency, they will have priority for any donations you make to our Africa Fund. If donations exceed the amount needed by this family, second priority will be for other families and individuals, in Africa, facing similar circumstances. To make a secure online donation, please select your preferred currency, and click the "Africa Fund" button, below. You may also choose to donate to our General Fund, which we may use for whatever project we deem most urgent, or for general operational expenses, such as domain name registration, etc. To do so, please select your preferred currency, enter the amount of your donation, and click the button below. Another way those with an organization or private website can help is to refer other potential donors to our website by featuring a link, such as the following banner. Please feel free to either download the image below, and copy it to your own website; or alternatively, just cut and paste the HTML code, below the image, to your website. The latter alternative will load the banner from our website.
* To protect the privacy of the family concerned, fictitious names are used throughout this website, in reference to all members of that family. Above Content Added: February 2007 Update August 2007: Though funds from our donors have been a tremendous help to the Okellos* in their daily struggle for survival, progress toward the final goal of re-establishing their self-sufficiency has been slow. Since most of the funds donated thus far have been urgently needed for basic necessities, such as food and medicine, not much has been available for the longer-term needs, such as relocating the entire family to the Kisumu region, and beginning construction on their new shelter. We have therefore decided to launch a sponsorship program, which we hope will cover most of the daily necessities, and allow other donations to be used primarily for their return to a life of self-sufficiency. Please click here for more information on the Sponsorship program.
