We have come up with a 3-month plan to help the Okellos* out of their dire circumstances. A summary of the plan is as follows:
- Phase 1: Supply most urgent/immediate needs using currently available funds of $250 US.
- Phase 2: Fundraising to support later needs, and further delivery of supplies.
- Phase 3: Rehabilitation and return of Okello* family to self-sufficiency.
Phase 1 of the above plan was completed on April 20, 2005, in collaboration with the Ugandan Humanist Association (UHAsso). EARTHWARD sent $250 US to UHAsso. The president of that organization, Deogratias Ssekitooleko, then used those funds to travel to Nairobi, meet the Okello's*, confirm their living conditions and other aspects of their situation, and deliver urgently needed supplies. He also took the photos of the Okellos* used on this website. We deeply appreciate Mr. Ssekitooleko's generous contribution of time and effort.
Supplies delivered on April 20, 2005 included water, food and medicine.

We have now completed phase 2 of the above plan, and we have entered phase 3.
